Mark this writing for 100 years pre-HL ruling by the SCOTUS:
We are re-learning what Capitalism is in America: we haven't lived through socialism or communism or seen very much despotism in our few years. The ruling is not about power, and even less about religion. It is about Capitalism's freedom to add axioms and unfurl its machinery into every part of strata. Some would like you to believe that this ruling contains the axiom: corporations are people. Corporations are not people. They are bodies--molar aggregates--but not people. The deception of the ruling lies in the usage of, once again, mythos as the mask for surplus value. [A quick review: Plato's dialectical method always used an intervening mythos or story to establish the "right" choice in ethical arguments. Surplus value is the amount the capitalist makes after cutting his overhead down as low as it can go]. It's also the means by which he justifies and rationalizing all of his hypocrisies: namely, that the intervening mythos regarding the descent of the soul from Heaven to the embryo somehow usurps preference from the Old Testament imperative: "Be fruitful and multiply."
Which is to say, why stop at the Morning After Pill if you're so sure it's wrong?
Because this quasi-religious argument and the subsequent banter of "yay religious freedom" (ironically enough from other women if I believe the TV screen) has all just been a sham to justify one thing: that profit improves. Indeed, the ruling as an event articulates a proliferation of what capitalists can now use as ammunition: religious freedom. It must be frustrating for the Objectivists to witness this victory in the courts; they wait like UFO watchers shouting "Take me! Take me!" when it is the Christian who is instead ratified by the Capitalist machine. Why not? Doesn't Capitalism eat its own? Yes, from the inside, from the blood and organs and nervous system outward--outward to the courts, prisons, and school lunch table: viral contagion.
Religion is a mask; even Christ knew that the word of God was a viral particle swarming beneath the surface, individuating you, creating you in the language of its identity and making you think you made yourself. That's the real transubstantiation: the inside and the outside doubling in one another. Christ created the cure for his own mythos-addled mind--he was the first Atheist.
And now, Capitalism: the resurrecting savior. And you and I? Lazarus or Legion?
